Ophthalmic Assistant Professional

The Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. This role is responsible for providing clinical support to ophthalmologists and other medical staff, including preparing patients for exams, performing basic eye function testing, and maintaining examination rooms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of patients for exams, including obtaining medical records and explaining procedures
- Performance of basic eye function testing, such as visual acuity tests and measurements
- Maintenance of examination rooms, including sterilization and cleaning equipment
- Assistance with administrative duties, including patient registration and scheduling
Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Completion of an Ophthalmic Assistant program or other Health Science degree program
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association within 1 month of hire
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) within 18 months of hire
Estimated Salary: $20.50 - $28.95 per hour
