Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing clinical support to our ophthalmologists and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Duties:
    • Obtain medical records and prepare patients for exams
    • Perform standard tests and measurements
    • Conduct preliminary eye function testing
    • Explain medication or procedures to patients
    • Sterilize and clean equipment
    • Maintain examination rooms and supplies
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Support administrative tasks related to patient contact

Requirements:

  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association within 1 month of hire
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) within 18 months of hire
  • Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)
  • Willingness and ability to perform self-study and online training for completion of Ophthalmic Assistant program
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of Medical Terminology

Pay Range: $17.46 - $25.94
