We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vision Care Professional to provide clinical support in our outpatient care site.

As a key member of our team, you will work under the direction of practice providers to perform various clinical duties such as obtaining medical records, preparing patients for exams, conducting standard tests and measurements, performing preliminary eye function testing, explaining medication or procedures to patients, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms and supplies. Additionally, you will be responsible for some administrative duties related to patient contact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health science field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of experience in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting involving patient contact, preferably working under the direction of an Ophthalmologist.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification from the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) within 18 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association within 1 month of hire.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to report patient care observations, deviations from patient's plan of care, and other pertinent information under direct supervision.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and Medical Terminology.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $23,730-$34,832, based on industry standards and location.
