Position Overview

The Information Technology Department at The McCallie School, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Technical Support Analyst. This role reports directly to the Director of Information Technology and acts as the primary point of contact for students and staff, assisting in the troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to various computing devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and audio/visual technology.

This position requires outstanding customer service and communication abilities, the capacity to work efficiently under pressure, and proficiency with a diverse range of hardware, software, and applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer support with prompt and effective service.
  • Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain school devices, including Windows laptops and desktops via Active Directory, Group Policy/PolicyPak, and PDQ; Chromebooks through Google Workspace Administration; and Apple devices using JAMF.
  • Oversee the inventory and logistics of student loaner laptops.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on computer systems, ensuring updates, patches, and security configurations are applied.
  • Guarantee compliance with industry-standard security practices, including the implementation of security policies, regular audits, and staying informed on the latest security threats.
  • Set up, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain various printers and multifunction devices.
  • Manage print systems and ensure the functionality and availability of all printing and copying devices, resolving issues related to connectivity and print quality.
  • Perform hardware lifecycle and maintenance services for various environments.
  • Provide on-site support for designated events outside of regular business hours.
  • Assist with logistical changes in office and classroom settings.
  • Offer end-user support for software and hardware applications.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain projection systems and related equipment.
  • Contribute to process improvement by recommending best practices and optimizing workflows.
Work Schedule
  • Primarily during standard business hours (8 AM - 5 PM), Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional evening and weekend support for events.
  • Emergency support may be required at any time.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with common desktop and mobile operating systems and productivity software.
  • Experience with collaboration tools.
  • Ability to assist users with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Capability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of The McCallie School.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with device management systems.
  • Knowledge of backend streaming services.
  • Familiarity with Linux administration.
  • Programming or scripting skills.
  • Experience in an educational IT environment.
Physical Requirements

This position will involve working in various locations on campus, requiring the ability to lift up to fifty pounds and access devices in elevated areas.
