Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management
    • Lead the pharmacy referral team to ensure compliance with federal, state, and health plan guidelines.
    • Implement and monitor compliance programs to prevent non-compliance and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Value-Based Contracting
    • Implement and monitor value-based contracts to meet pharmacy cost targets.
    • Conduct monthly assessments of pharmacy data by region and for value-based contracts to identify targeted drugs and prescribers to promote evidence-based cost-effective utilization.
  • Operational Management
    • Manage the pharmacy referral team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
    • Implement operational changes through staff education and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Reporting and Analytics
    • Create goals, metrics, and monitoring tools for the staff and assigned processes.
    • Provide monthly pharmacy reports and lead team meetings.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Lead ongoing interdepartmental meetings for cap deductions.
    • Provide assistance and participate in state and health plan audits.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Must hold an active pharmacist license for CA.
    • Management experience in a pharmacy setting.
    • Prior authorization experience.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience and knowledge of injectables and infusion.
    • Health plan pharmacy vs. medical benefits.
