Position Overview
As a Special Education Classroom Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational environment by assisting with classroom organization and the delivery of instructional materials. You will work under the guidance of instructional staff to enhance the learning experience for students.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the teacher to prepare educational resources tailored for student needs.
- Provide individualized support to students or facilitate small group sessions to reinforce learning objectives.
- Assist in managing daily classroom routines, including the distribution and collection of materials, maintaining attendance records, and grading assignments as directed.

- Participate in supervisory duties during lunch, recess, and transitions between classes.
- Aid in the setup and upkeep of bulletin boards and learning centers to create an engaging educational atmosphere.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by school administration.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Certification: Must obtain the Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate within one year of employment.
- Experience: 0 - 1 year of relevant experience is preferred, particularly in a classroom setting or with children.

Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with students and staff.
- Excellent organizational abilities and adaptability to changing situations.
- If involved in a Dual Immersion program, proficiency in the language of instruction is necessary.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Working Environment
- Classroom setting with physical demands including the ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds with assistance and manage mobility aids.
