Job Summary

As a Special Education Pre K Paraprofessional with Fulton County Schools, you will play a vital role in supporting the instructional staff in providing a high-quality education to students. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher in preparing educational materials for students, ensuring they are engaging and effective.
  • Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives, providing personalized support and guidance.
  • Assist with daily routines, including distributing and collecting supplies, maintaining attendance records, and grading quizzes as assigned.
  • Participate in lunchroom, recess, and bus duties, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining bulletin boards and learning centers, creating a visually appealing and engaging learning space.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the team.
Requirements

Education
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. In lieu of the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment, two years (60 semester hours) of college coursework above the remedial level with a grade of "C" or better at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution is acceptable.

Certification/Licensure
Must be able to obtain the Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate within one year from date of hire.

Experience
0-1 year of experience is required. Classroom experience and/or proven ability to work with children is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Classroom experience and/or proven ability to work with children is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with students and adults are essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills and flexibility are required.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written language of instruction is necessary for working in the Dual Immersion program.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions quickly and accurately is crucial.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information is required.
Working Conditions
  • Classroom environment with occasional physical demands.
