Front Desk Receptionist Job Description

Rothman Orthopaedics is seeking a skilled Front Desk Receptionist to join our Shore team. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Check in patients, verify and update demographic and insurance information in eCW.
  • Update the eCW system on patients' arrival and records referral information.
  • Check out and make appointments for follow-up patients' office schedules.
  • Answer telephone calls in a professional manner, screen calls, and respond to routine requests for information.
  • Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties.
  • Screen visitors and respond to routine requests for information.
  • Collect applicable insurance co-pay information and referrals.
  • Batches out and balances end-of-day payments.
  • Assist other front desk personnel in situations with irate patients.
  • Maintain work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Re-supply front desk for the day.
  • Prepare all work for the next business day in eCW.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED minimum education requirement.
  • Minimum one year of medical reception experience required.
  • Must have EMR system experience.
