Position Overview

As a Registered Nurse in our Hospice Inpatient unit, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to patients nearing the end of life. This full-time position operates on the 3rd shift, ensuring that our patients receive the support they need during this critical time.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess patient conditions and comfort levels, promptly communicating any changes to the healthcare team, family, and caregivers.
- Develop and adjust personalized care plans, focusing on managing discomfort and providing effective symptom relief.
- Administer medications and treatments while collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Group for comprehensive care planning.
- Provide specialized hospice training to staff, families, and caregivers to enhance patient care quality.
- Educate patients and their families about disease processes, offering emotional support throughout their journey.
- Supervise LPNs and support staff, ensuring clear communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Foster trusting relationships with patients and families while maintaining accurate documentation.

Qualifications

- Current RN licensure in Michigan.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in med/surg, acute care, or skilled nursing settings.
- Previous hospice or hospital experience is preferred.
- A genuine passion for hospice nursing and patient care.
