About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Focused Systems Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Systems Engineering Design & Architecture organization, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and integrating software solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Requirements Management: Update and maintain system and subsystem level requirements specifications for embedded software, configurable logic, and test systems software.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work closely with Systems, Software, Configurable Logic, and Test teams on various program technical tasks.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate in technical conversations with customers, including occasional travel domestically or internationally.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Experience: Eight years of experience in software architecture, design, development, integration, and verification, or related fields.
  • Additional Requirements: Four years of systems engineering experience in at least four of the following areas: software or firmware development, software or firmware testing, interfacing with customers, developing CONOPS, developing and refining system architecture, developing and refining system requirements, performing functional and physical analyses, performing functional allocation, creating and maintaining specifications, developing requirements verification strategies and plans, developing integrated systems security solutions, subassembly integration and verification, system integration and verification, software development using C, C#, C++, or Python.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-Graduate Degree: Post-graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.
  • Agile Framework Experience: Experience using Agile framework development methods and tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Military Systems Experience: Familiarity with military systems, tactics, techniques, and procedures, and work with the DoD customer.
  • Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle: Understanding of the Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle as it relates to the Software Development life cycle.
  • Technical Briefs and Presentations: Prior work experience giving technical briefs or presentations with strong verbal and written communication skills.
