About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal System Security Software Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Software Security Sensors and Effectors Department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating secure software solutions for our missile systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure software applications using C and C++ languages on various computing platforms.
  • Apply system security principles to the design and implementation of hardened missile software applications.
  • Develop software applications using C and C++ languages on various computing platforms.
  • Understand real-time software design and the performance implications associated with specific system security implementations.
  • Develop test, automation, and build software for embedded software, typically in Python.
  • Obtain and maintain a Top-Secret level clearance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, or related engineering/science discipline, and 8+ years of experience.
  • Experience with Xilinx IDEs (SDK/Vitis, Vivado) and Xilinx Zynq MPSoCs, UltraScale+, or similar embedded processors.
  • Experience with VxWorks 7 or similar embedded operating systems.
  • Experience with C or C++ programming languages.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing, implementing, testing, integrating, or fielding real-time security-oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs (embedded experience highly preferred).
  • Experience in developing embedded security software.
  • Experience with systems/software security concepts.
  • Experience in Agile and DevSecOps environments.
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban frameworks and development environments.
  • Experience using software configuration management and bug tracking tools.
  • Experience with Python/Perl programming languages.
  • Knowledge of modern computer architectures and hardware technologies, including x86 architectures, PCIe, GPIO, I2C, SATA, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), and Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs).
