About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Officer to join our team at the US Marshals Service. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in financial management, leadership, and human resources to drive success in our organization.

Job Summary

As an Administrative Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all administrative matters for the district, which comprises seven offices throughout southern Texas. You will serve as the principal financial officer, liaison with Human Resources, and subject matter expert on federal appropriations law and financial policy. Your duties will include managing procurement, property management, and records management programs, as well as providing advice and assistance to District management and subordinate staff on human resource-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as second-level supervisor overseeing all District administrative matters.
  • Serve as the organization's principal financial officer.
  • Serve as the federal appropriations law and financial policy subject matter expert for the District.
  • Manage the District procurement, property management, and records management programs.
  • Provide advice and assistance to District management and subordinate staff on human resource-related matters.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have at least one year of specialized experience that includes:

  • Utilizing accounting and fund control systems to maintain proper financial regulation compliance.
  • Experience preparing performance standards and ratings for subordinate employees.
  • Utilizing purchasing regulations, methods, and procedures to acquire services and supplies.
  • Acting as a liaison with Human Resources on various personnel-related issues/matters.
Benefits

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $142,000 - $170,000 per year, based on location and experience. You will also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. In addition, you will have opportunities for professional growth and development within the US Marshals Service.
