Position Overview
This role is part of our Centralized Commercial Lending team, specifically within the Loss Mitigation division. The selected candidate will take charge of managing portfolios proactively, identifying trends, and notifying management of any changes in portfolio conditions. Collaboration with relationship managers will be essential to finalize credit package terms and workout structures while independently prioritizing requests. Additional responsibilities include monitoring past due loans within the CCL portfolio and pinpointing potential downgrade situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze cash flows and Moody's spreads prepared by the Credit Analyst, conducting thorough evaluations of financial data to recommend approval or denial of new loans in line with the Bank's policies. Prepare concise Credit Origination Memorandum that highlights strengths, risks, and mitigating factors. Collaborate with Relationship Managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for a comprehensive assessment of loan requests.
  • Produce high-quality, detailed credit approval documents that reflect an in-depth analysis and understanding of credit issues and risks. Demonstrate proficiency in spreading and interpreting financial statements, tax returns, and projections using Excel.
  • Provide insights on loan structuring and suggest alternative structures that may better suit the transaction.
  • Operate effectively in a high-volume environment, consistently meeting Service Level Agreements and turnaround time goals while delivering timely credit decisions.
  • Engage independently in special projects related to credit topics as directed by Bank Credit teams.
  • Support the Bank's commitment to relationship banking through ongoing internal partner engagement, exceptional customer service, and extensive product knowledge. Adhere to the Bank's Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in commercial credit underwriting is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of commercial credit underwriting principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good foundational knowledge of general banking operations and a proficient understanding of financial planning components, deposit products, small business offerings, investment, and insurance products.
