Position Overview
This role is part of our Centralized Commercial Lending team, specifically within the Loss Mitigation sector. The individual in this position will take charge of managing portfolios proactively, identifying trends, and notifying management of any shifts in portfolio conditions. Collaboration with relationship managers is essential to finalize credit package terms and workout structures while independently prioritizing requests. Responsibilities also include monitoring overdue loans within the CCL portfolio and recognizing potential downgrade scenarios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews of cash flows and Moody's spreads prepared by the Credit Analyst, performing detailed analyses of financial data to recommend approval or denial of new loans in line with the Bank's policies. Prepare Credit Origination Memorandum clearly outlining strengths, risks, and mitigating factors.
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and projections using Excel to prepare high-quality credit approval documents that reflect a comprehensive understanding of credit issues and risks.
  • Provide insights on loan structuring and alternative solutions that may better suit the transaction.
  • Manage a high-volume workload, consistently meeting Service Level Agreements and turnaround time goals while delivering timely credit decisions.
  • Engage in special projects related to credit topics as requested by Bank Credit teams.
  • Foster the Bank's relationship banking culture through ongoing internal collaboration, exceptional customer service, and in-depth product knowledge. Adhere to the Bank's Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Preferred: Five years of experience in commercial credit underwriting.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of commercial credit underwriting.
  • Ability to engage effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Proven success in a deadline-driven team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good understanding of general banking operations and financial planning components.
