Overview

The Commercial Credit Analyst I will deliver comprehensive credit and financial analysis support to Renasant Bank's Commercial Lending Unit (CLU).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the bank's CLU credit applications, focusing on significant relationship exposures.
  • Gather and evaluate credit information to assist the CLU in making informed lending decisions on new, renewal, and prospective loans by ensuring all necessary financial documentation is obtained from borrowers and guarantors.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of relevant credit, collateral, and financial data.
  • Prepare detailed financial spreads, global cash flow analyses, and real estate models.
  • Draft a comprehensive Credit Memo that includes a Transaction Summary, Borrower History, Relationship Overview, Financial Analysis of Borrowers and Guarantors, Repayment Capacity, Collateral Assessment, and Industry Insights.
  • Compile written Relationship Credit Reviews.
  • Monitor financial indicators and covenant compliance.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, and other stakeholders regarding borrower creditworthiness, loan structure, risk assessment, and other relevant financial factors.
  • Manage the workflow of the pipeline, ensuring effective communication with management as necessary.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and turnaround times in all outputs.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics is preferred (or equivalent years of directly related experience will be considered).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Commercial Underwriting or 5 years of relevant banking/lending experience.
  • Familiarity with various collateral loan types and the ability to calculate Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios.
  • Experience in underwriting commercial construction, commercial and industrial (C&I), and commercial real estate (CRE) loans.
  • Ability to identify different types of commercial loans and their purposes.
  • Proficient in analyzing tax returns and financial statements prepared by accountants and internally.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Aptitude for learning and utilizing new systems, processes, policies, and procedures efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Skilled in using a financial calculator for loan payment calculations and other financial assessments.
  • Willingness to quickly adapt to various job assignments.
