Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Loan Committee and oversee the organization's risk management efforts to mitigate credit risks.
- Chair the Loan Classification Committee, ensuring proper risk ratings and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of credit submissions to ensure they meet sound underwriting criteria.
- Establish and monitor financial metrics for the lending portfolio, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidelines.
- Manage credit risk oversight for third-party relationships, creating policies and metrics to inform management about emerging risks.
- Provide leadership to Loan Operations staff, setting clear expectations and performance standards.
- Develop and implement the CECL model, providing regular assessments of loan loss reserves.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulators during safety and soundness examinations.
- Supervise and mentor direct reports, conducting regular performance evaluations.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for management and the Board regarding loan portfolio performance.
- Facilitate improvements in financial and management information systems related to the lending portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership roles focused on credit and risk management.
- Proficient in various software applications, including Windows-based systems and bank-specific software.
Essential Skills:
- Strong leadership capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of banking regulations and lending policies.
- Expertise in developing and implementing lending procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate the organization's credit risk appetite.
