Production Operations Manager

Position Overview:
Seattle Galvanizing Company, Inc. is in search of a motivated and skilled Plant Manager who possesses a proactive, hands-on management style to oversee our vibrant production team. The successful candidate will engage directly in daily operations, showcasing leadership by collaborating closely with the workforce on the production floor, enhancing operational efficiency, and nurturing a culture of ongoing improvement and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and actively participate in all aspects of plant operations, demonstrating a practical approach to production, maintenance, quality assurance, and overall operational effectiveness.
- Lead by example, dedicating substantial time on the production floor, directly interacting with staff to resolve challenges, streamline processes, and uphold quality production standards.
- Guide, mentor, and inspire the team, focusing on skill enhancement, teamwork, and accountability through regular hands-on training sessions and workshops.
- Evaluate production metrics and team performance to pinpoint improvement opportunities, executing practical strategies to boost efficiency and productivity.
- Encourage a cooperative atmosphere, involving the team in problem-solving and decision-making to foster ownership and camaraderie.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, actively engaging in safety training and assessments, and promoting a culture of safety across all operations.
- Act as a role model in fostering a customer-centric approach, ensuring the team recognizes the significance of quality and timely delivery in achieving customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a hands-on leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial setting, with a strong emphasis on production and team management.
- Proven ability to collaborate closely with a team, leading by example and cultivating a positive, engaging workplace.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive stance on identifying and addressing production and team-related challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at motivating and developing a diverse workforce.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA standards, committed to maintaining a secure work environment.
- A degree in business management, engineering, or a related field is preferred, reflecting both theoretical and practical knowledge in plant operations.
