We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Ground Transportation Division at Hoyle Tanner and Associates, Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering state agency and municipal roadway, traffic, drainage, and safety designs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of calculations, layouts, estimates, and specifications under senior engineers and project managers.
  • Leading and guiding junior engineers and CADD teammates.
  • Developing an understanding of project budget, scope of services, project development, and project schedule.
  • Providing updates and recommendations to the Project Manager in maintaining schedule and budget.
  • Sharing best practices to improve performance and efficiency of self and team.
  • Developing person-hour estimates and budgets with guidance from senior staff.
  • Assisting in proposal efforts and development.
  • Providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to develop entry-level and staff engineers, peers, and others as needed.
  • Conducting site visits and participating in or leading meetings with clients/contractors.
  • Demonstrating strong technical writing and presentation skills for deliverables, proposals, and presentations in a public setting.

Requirements:

  • BSCE Degree required, MSCE preferred.
  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Current PE in NH, MA, ME, or VT.
  • Experience with MaineDOT, NHDOT, VTrans, or MassDOT highway projects.
  • Proficient in Microstation, AutoCAD, HydroCAD, Civil 3D, ArcView, In Roads, WORD, Excel, and MS Project.
