We are currently seeking multiple Maintenance Workers to engage in various physical labor tasks associated with the upkeep and repair of our facilities and related infrastructure.
Work conditions may vary, as tasks are performed in diverse weather conditions and at various times throughout the day or night, although regular schedules are established.
Key ResponsibilitiesEssential duties include:
- Conducting routine maintenance on fire hydrants, meters, valves, pump stations, reservoirs, and buildings.
- Performing inspections and maintenance on valves, hydrants, and meters using maps and drawings.
- Executing limited pavement restoration and environmental protection tasks at construction sites.
Specialized responsibilities may involve:
- Installing new services and performing tie-ins.
- Detecting and repairing leaks, addressing customer inquiries, and conducting meter testing.
- Handling the installation and repair of customer water services, managing water distribution system repairs, and investigating system risks.

QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in physical labor, preferably related to underground utility maintenance and repair.
Certifications and Training:
- Water Distribution Manager 1 (WDM1) certification is preferred, with preference given to qualified candidates.
- CDL Class A with tanker endorsement is preferred or must be obtained within one (1) year of hire at the applicant's expense.
- Cross Connection Control Specialist (CCS) certification must be acquired within one year of hire.
Preferred certifications include: Flagger card, Forklift certification, Competent Person/Cave-In Protection training, Confined Space training, Asbestos Cement Pipe Work Practice and Procedure training, and First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Physical RequirementsThis position necessitates various physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, balancing, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, crawling, climbing, twisting, gripping, driving, stooping, crouching, and repetitive motions. The incumbent must be able to hear emergency communications and commands and should be capable of lifting objects exceeding 59 pounds.
Compensation and BenefitsThis position is represented by a union and is governed by the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. The full salary range for a Maintenance Worker is $44.31 per hour, with an anticipated hiring range of $40.14 based on experience and qualifications.

Benefits are valued at over 50% in additional compensation.
Note: Under the current collective bargaining agreement, all represented employees have $3.25 per hour of their hourly wage allocated to a separate pension fund.
