Position Summary: The Cashier plays a vital role in delivering quality customer service by processing payments for parking services and ensuring smooth traffic flow at the facility.

Compensation: $16.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure punctuality and proper attire for every scheduled shift.
  • Verify the cash bank at the start of each shift to confirm accuracy.
  • Safeguard cash and validations while processing customer payments.
  • Issue receipts or tickets for each transaction and provide change as necessary.
  • Calculate amounts due based on ticket information.
  • Operate the cash register to process transactions accurately.
  • Provide pricing information for parking services to customers.
  • Assist customers with directions to various city locations.
  • Complete lost ticket documentation when required.
  • Address customer complaints independently or with supervisor assistance.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the booth and surrounding areas.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure adequate supplies and work aids are available.
  • Reconcile shift transactions with cash on hand.
  • Document revenue collected throughout the day and prepare shift reports.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Requirements: To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Education and Experience: A minimum of less than high school education or up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Availability: Shift requirements may vary based on location needs, including potential availability for 2nd or 3rd shifts and weekends.

License Requirement: A valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.

Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to make change.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence, and effectively communicate in small group settings.

Reasoning Ability: Capability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions and address problems in standardized situations.

Other Skills: Competence in using timekeeping devices and cash handling equipment, along with maintaining a professional demeanor in customer interactions.

Physical Demands: The role requires regular sitting, use of hands, and occasional walking. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
