Position Overview:
Potelco, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to enhance our design and project management capabilities.

In this capacity, you will lead and contribute to projects focused on the construction, enhancement, and replacement of electrical transmission and distribution lines.


Our team is dedicated to supporting major energy companies in modernizing their electric systems and maintaining extensive infrastructure.


Compensation:
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, starting at $90,000.

This position requires the candidate to hold a Professional Engineer license in the state of Washington.

Key Responsibilities:


• Develop engineering designs for transmission (55 kV – 230 kV overhead) and distribution lines (primarily 15 kV & 35 kV, both overhead and underground).

• Conduct field investigations, perform computer modeling, and design foundations, while preparing necessary reports and applying a PE Stamp when required.


• Ensure compliance of team deliverables with relevant codes, standards, and operational requirements.
• Analyze engineering guidelines and standards to devise solutions for challenges when existing standards are insufficient.
• Review, sign, and seal essential documentation, including technical reports and construction drawings.
• Act as a consultant and mentor to internal staff, fostering project completion, engineering skill development, and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet project deadlines and maintain technical documentation templates for client deliverables.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

• Professional engineering license in Washington or the ability to obtain one within three months.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction or utilities sector.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Capability to organize and participate in field visits across various environments throughout the year.


• Proficient in presenting information and addressing inquiries from diverse stakeholders, including team members, leadership, clients, vendors, and construction personnel.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Ability to pass mandatory drug and alcohol screenings.

• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the design, construction, and operation of high voltage power lines.

• Background in electric utility operations.

• Familiarity with software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-CAISSON, PLS-TOWER, LPILE, and/or MFAD.

• Understanding of geotechnical reports and studies.
