Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be supporting the project manager in tracking budgets, managing RFIs, and ensuring project success. You will play a key role in supporting both electrical and civil projects from conception to completion. This includes planning , executing, and overseeing electrical and civil projects,
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management Support: Assist the project manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing industrial electrical and civil engineering projects. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- RFI and Submittal Management: Construct and track Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittal packages. Ensure timely responses and approvals to keep the project on schedule.
- Maintain Drawing Sets: Keep drawing sets up to date, posting updates to both electronic and hard copies as required.
- Coordinate, Log, and File Correspondence: Manage and organize all project correspondence, ensuring that all communications are logged and filed appropriately.
- Purchase Orders: Implement and enter Purchasing Orders (POs) and PO changes, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Budget Tracking: Monitor and track time & material (T&M) tickets, including costs related to materials, labor, and other expenses. Ensure financial resources are used efficiently and identify potential cost-saving measures.
- Planning: Investigate, identify and inform the project team of electrical and civil plans and specifications. Ensure submittals and installation requirements are in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including general contractors, architects, engineers, and contractors, to integrate electrical and civil systems with other project components.
- Implementation: Ensure all installations are carried out in accordance with project plans and project specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, design changes, and meeting minutes.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide regular updates on project status.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to local codes, regulations, and industry standards. Obtain necessary permits and approvals as required.
- Assist in Estimating and Tracking Change Orders: Occasional support in estimating and tracking Potential Change Orders (PCOs), ensuring accurate documentation and communication of changes.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience as a project engineer or relative role, with a strong background in exposure to electrical, civil, or general construction projects.
- Skills:
- General understanding of construction knowledge.
- Experience in budget tracking and financial management related to projects.
- Desire to develop project management skills with the ability to support and collaborate with a project manager.
- Experience in constructing and tracking RFIs and submittal packages.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
