Position Overview

The Culinary Service Associate plays a vital role within a collaborative team of 3-6 members, responsible for serving and delivering wholesome, made-from-scratch meals to numerous students daily. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, demonstrate reliability, and possess a positive attitude. Key responsibilities include collaborating with schools, distributing meals to students, assisting with light food preparation, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portion meals in accordance with Red Rabbit's production standards and state guidelines.
  • Enhance meal presentation by garnishing and showcasing dishes per culinary standards.
  • Distribute meals respectfully to students, adhering to portion compliance and school schedules.
  • Accurately track and record food distribution to ensure compliance and minimize waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen to consistently exceed health department standards.
  • Exemplify Red Rabbit's values in interactions with school staff and students by being professional and courteous.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional culinary experience in a fast-paced environment (e.g., restaurants, high-volume kitchens, or similar roles in schools/hospitals).
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Serve Safe certification is required.
  • Food handler's license or certification is advantageous.
  • Ability to self-motivate and stay organized.
  • Capable of working effectively within a team and maintaining composure in a dynamic setting.
  • Positive attitude contributing to a supportive work environment.
  • Passion for enhancing nutrition and health in educational settings.
  • Proficient in reading and writing in English; bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Job Type: Full Time

Typical Hours: Monday - Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Compensation: $17.50-$20.00/hour
