Position Overview

The Culinary Service Associate plays a crucial role within a team of 3-6 members, responsible for serving and delivering wholesome, made-from-scratch meals to students daily. The ideal candidate is dependable, has experience working with children, and possesses a positive attitude. Key responsibilities include collaborating with schools, distributing meals, assisting with food preparation, and maintaining high kitchen standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Distribute food in accordance with Red Rabbit's production and state guidelines.
  • Enhance meal presentation by garnishing according to culinary standards.
  • Serve meals respectfully to students, adhering to portion control and timing.
  • Accurately track food distribution to ensure compliance and minimize waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen to exceed health department standards.
  • Exemplify Red Rabbit's values in interactions with school staff and students through professionalism and courtesy.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of culinary experience in a fast-paced environment, such as restaurants or high-volume kitchens.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Serve Safe certification is required.
  • Food handler's license or certification is advantageous.
  • Ability to self-motivate and stay organized.
  • Capable of working effectively within a team and maintaining composure in a busy setting.
  • Positive attitude that contributes to a collaborative work environment.
  • Commitment to improving nutrition and health in educational settings.
  • Proficient in reading and writing in English; bilingual skills (English and Spanish) are a plus.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Additional Information

Job Type: Full Time

Typical Hours: Monday - Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Compensation: $17.50-$20.00/hour
