The AWS Neuron Compiler team is on the lookout for skilled applied scientists to contribute to the advancement of a cutting-edge deep learning compiler framework. This framework is engineered to enhance application models across various sectors, including Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision, utilizing prominent frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and JAX. In this position, you will collaborate closely with our proprietary Machine Learning accelerators, including Inferentia and Trainium, which embody the pinnacle of AWS innovation for sophisticated ML functionalities, supporting initiatives like Generative AI.

The Automated Reasoning Group within the AWS Neuron Compiler team operates at the crossroads of Artificial Intelligence and program analysis, aiming to elevate the quality of code in the compiler stack. As an Applied Scientist, you will play a vital role in the design, development, and deployment of analyzers for ML compiler stages and intermediate representations (IRs). Your contributions will extend to the architecture and semantics of domain-specific languages (DSLs) that our clients appreciate when designing neural architectures. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing essential tools, publishing groundbreaking research, and mentoring a talented team of seasoned scientists and engineers. It is essential to be technically proficient, credible, and inquisitive as a trusted AWS Neuron engineer, innovating for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address significant challenges alongside a skilled engineering team.
  • Contribute to pioneering design and research in compiler technology and deep-learning systems software.
  • Utilize strong expertise in programming languages, compilers, program analyzers, and program synthesis engines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in computer science or a related discipline.
  • A robust publication record.
  • Experience in hands-on compiler or tool development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Publications in programming languages, compilers, static analysis, or verification.
  • A history of mentoring junior researchers.
  • Experience collaborating with a broader community of compiler users and developers.
