As a vital component of our advertising offerings, Sponsored Products (SP) empowers merchants, retail vendors, and brand owners through native advertising, facilitating the growth of additional sales for their products available on Amazon.
The primary objectives of the SP team are to assist shoppers in discovering new products they cherish, provide an efficient avenue for advertisers to achieve their business goals, and foster a sustainable business model that consistently innovates for the benefit of customers.
Our products and solutions play a strategically crucial role in enabling our Retail and Marketplace divisions to achieve long-term growth. We generate billions of ad impressions and millions of clicks, pioneering product and technical innovations daily.Our team is dedicated to developing state-of-the-art AI solutions to address the most challenging obstacles that impede the search experience on Amazon. To achieve this, we invest in large language models (LLM), multi-modal Generative AI models, and other related deep learning methodologies.
We are in search of a committed Senior Applied Scientist with expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Information Retrieval, to conceptualize and construct scalable solutions aimed at enhancing the Sponsored Products experience within the Amazon Search framework.
As a Senior Applied Scientist on our team, you will:
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Sponsored Products offering at Amazon and pinpoint opportunities to leverage AI solutions for business growth.
• Mentor and guide fellow applied scientists within our organization, upholding a high standard of technical rigor and excellence in machine learning.
• Design and spearhead AI roadmaps and solutions that enhance the shopping experience for Amazon customers while creating lasting value for our sellers.
• Collaborate with engineering partners, utilizing your experience to navigate latency and other system constraints.
• Identify unexplored, high-risk technical and scientific avenues, formulating new research directions that you will lead to fruition and deliver.
• Communicate our AI advancements to the broader internal and external scientific community.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years of experience in developing machine learning models for business applications
• PhD or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar
• Experience with neural deep learning techniques and machine learning
• Proven track record in developing and deploying solutions involving generative AI models.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Familiarity with modeling tools like R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, TensorFlow, numpy, scipy, etc.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, etc.
