Mill Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

The Mill Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining pellet mills, performing quality control testing, and ensuring the production process runs smoothly. This is a critical role in our production team, and we are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain pellet mills, ensuring optimal production and quality.
  • Perform quality control testing, including measuring moisture content, pellet diameter, and volume of fines.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and maintain a clean work area.
  • Collaborate with the packaging, loader, and dryer operators to ensure a smooth production process.
  • Collect and verify shift reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in down day repairs and cleaning of the process.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of the production process.
  • Technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs safely and stand for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to use catwalks and climb ladders up to 30 feet high.
  • Basic math calculations and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-temperature and humidity area and confined spaces.
