About the Role

America's National Parks, a not-for-profit partner of the National Park Service, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Operations Manager to support our retail operations at a national monument in Jersey City, NJ.

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a competitive hourly rate. The selected candidate must be able to work weekends and holidays.

We're looking for someone who is versatile, dedicated, and has a desire to learn and grow with America's National Parks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Store Manager in tactically managing operations at assigned store(s) within specific park location(s).
  • Regularly supervise store personnel and assist with the management of all retail business functions.
  • Help maintain payroll, supplies, travel, and other expenses to budget.
  • Review store sales performance with the Store Manager on a regular basis and recommend growth opportunities.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service and selling skills to promote America's National Parks mission and motivate others to follow a shared plan and drive results.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years' experience in retail management and/or four years' retail experience.
  • Computer proficiency required with applied understanding of Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team through shared mission and goals.
  • Thrives in a multi-tasking, high-energy environment with shifting priorities.
  • Results-driven: able to achieve sales and profitability goals.
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 15lbs to a shelf height of 5 feet; may be exposed to prolonged standing to include bending, squatting, and reaching.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a privately-owned vehicle.
  • Ability to travel using multiple modes of transportation (air, train, car, etc.) as needed.
