Job Summary

Graham Corporation and Subsidiaries is seeking a skilled Process Planner to join our team. As a Process Planner, you will play a critical role in developing the manufacturing plan to complete fabrication of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing process sequences for assigned customer orders by collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, and quality departments.
  • Communicate with Supply Chain/Purchasing to establish accurate need-by-date requirements for purchased materials.
  • Manage resource scheduling, output management, and reporting to ensure efficient production.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts within the master scheduler.
  • Assist in improving or eliminating inefficient or ineffective processes within the business.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions applicable to process planning.
  • Review engineering drawings and customer specifications to ensure processing requirements are achievable with current equipment capabilities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma; Associate's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related Science field preferred.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing-related process planning experience in an engineer-to-order environment; 5+ years of fabrication experience (welding preferred) in lieu of manufacturing-related process planning experience.
  • Overtime as required.
Skills
  • Experience reading technical drawings desired with a drive to be detail-oriented and willingness to learn specification requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering product structures (bills of material) to incorporate all operations necessary to convert raw materials to finished products.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal direction, as a highly motivated self-starter and within a team-oriented culture.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to operate cross-functionally within the organization and drive product/process improvements throughout the process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to independently acquire and apply knowledge related to ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including spreadsheet, word, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ability and willingness to abide by set company policy.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with company values.

Work conditions are typical for an office environment. The incumbent is required to be present on the shop floor at times to properly complete job tasks. Required to speak and communicate clearly with others.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is required to read, write, analyze data and reports, exercise judgment, develop plans, procedures, and goals, present information to others, and work under pressure.

This job primarily operates in an office setting but also requires visiting the shop floor to review and discuss manufacturing operations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is exposed to manufacturing and equipment noise and is expected to follow all PPE requirements while working in the fabrication areas.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance is desired.
