Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting quality initiatives across programs, ensuring that both the Supply Chain and internal production processes meet stringent quality standards. This position is responsible for leading root cause analysis and corrective action efforts, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives and presenting findings to both customers and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procedures based on industry and aerospace standards.
  • Analyze and resolve production issues collaboratively.
  • Act as the Quality representative for various programs and customers.
  • Review technical drawings and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Approve component First Article Inspections (FAIs).
  • Coordinate customer FAIs and support in-process product evaluations.
  • Prepare and review Acceptance Data Packages.
  • Assist in both customer and internal audits.
  • Address customer inquiries and lead corrective action initiatives.
  • Collaborate on Risk Analysis and Mitigation strategies.
  • Promote the application of Quality tools such as SPC, PFMEA, and MSA to minimize variability.
  • Engage in cost reduction initiatives related to scrap, rework, and repairs.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams and suppliers on Quality System requirements and corrective actions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely closure of initiatives through effective collaboration.
  • Maintain strong relationships with various departments including Business Development, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and company policies to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to company values consistently.
  • Keep management updated on activities and significant issues.
  • Ensure a clean and secure work environment.
  • Complete special projects and other assignments as needed.

Work Environment

  • This role involves interaction in both an office setting and a manufacturing environment, utilizing standard office equipment and safety gear as required.
  • This is a full-time position, with potential overtime and weekend work as necessary.
  • Some travel may be required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a quality-related role (recent graduates with relevant internships may be considered).
  • Experience in data analysis and procedure development is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret Military and Commercial specifications.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems such as AS9100, ISO9001, and ISO/TS16949.
  • Knowledge of critical processes including soldering and non-destructive testing.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction across all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant software applications.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance is required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to communicate effectively.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.
  • Frequent reaching and handling of materials is necessary.
  • Regular movement within the facility is expected.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds may be required.
