Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Generate and assess detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Ensure precision and adherence to non-profit accounting standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • General Ledger Oversight: Manage and uphold the general ledger by documenting and reconciling journal entries, overseeing account balances, and guaranteeing accurate financial documentation.
  • Budgeting and Financial Forecasting: Contribute to the formulation, supervision, and evaluation of annual budgets. Provide variance analysis and assist in financial forecasting to inform organizational strategies.
  • Grant Management: Monitor, administer, and report on grant funding, ensuring compliance with grant stipulations. Prepare financial documentation and reports for funders and grantors.
  • Audit Facilitation: Support internal and external audits by compiling necessary documentation, addressing audit inquiries, and resolving any findings or recommendations.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure prompt and precise handling of invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Cash Flow Management: Supervise cash flow, conduct bank reconciliations, and manage cash forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity for organizational requirements.
  • Policy Development: Create and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and optimize financial operations.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior accounting personnel, promoting professional growth and ensuring effective team dynamics.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years in accounting, particularly in non-profit financial management. Experience with fund accounting, grant oversight, and compliance is highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or equivalent certification is advantageous.
  • Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong grasp of non-profit accounting principles and regulations.
  • Attention to Detail: Outstanding analytical abilities with a careful approach to financial reporting and record maintenance.
  • Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to engage effectively with internal teams, donors, and auditors.
