Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Specialist to join our team at Human Learning Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating a comprehensive and diversified recreation program for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification, and acting as a mentor.
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate recreation activities, including sports, games, and cultural events, to promote independent living, continuing education, good sportsmanship, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  • Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate workplace and leisure time behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
  • Ensure the recreation center is attractive, clean, safe, and in good repair, and conduct regular inspections to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Provide students with Independent Living Program training and other Career Success Standards training, and develop and implement training to ensure students' successful knowledge and application of these standards.
  • Evaluate student progress and complete evaluations for students at least every 60 days, or as special evaluations are requested.
  • Plan physical education programs to promote the development of students' physical attributes and social skills.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or two to four years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid state driver's license and CPR/First Aid certifications.
