This role will provide hands-on industry exposure, establishing a robust foundation of product and market expertise. The individual will engage in gathering, analyzing, and assessing feedback by fostering strong connections with both end-users and clients to enhance new product concepts, sales strategies, and business initiatives, which will directly contribute to the organization's ongoing success.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct extensive market research on both the organization's and competitors' offerings through interactions with sales representatives, distributors, and end-users across various settings.
- Assist the Product Development team in product research by identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing opportunities for product enhancements, line expansions, new market entries, improved merchandising, promotions, and other growth avenues.
- Take ownership of a designated retail market to cultivate and leverage relationships with end-users and clients.
- Utilize innovative thinking to implement best practices for new merchandising and sales events to drive financial and brand growth within the assigned market.
- Collaborate with local and corporate sales teams to organize and execute product demonstration events at key customer locations.
- Analyze current e-commerce marketing and sales strategies to identify, recommend, and present opportunities for better alignment with core end-user needs.
- Prepare and deliver executive reviews outlining product recommendations, sales market performance, and marketing initiatives on a regular basis.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration within the organization, fostering positive working relationships among team members and other functional contacts.
- Perform additional duties as required within the scope of work.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, marketing, or a related technical/business field is essential. Internship or co-op experience in the relevant field is preferred. The role requires extensive local travel and fieldwork, with minimal overnight travel out of state. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint). The candidate must possess the ability to perform intermediate-level mathematics and financial calculations. Being a proactive team player who takes initiative and ownership of projects is crucial. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities, and work independently to meet deadlines are essential.
Physical Demands:
The role may occasionally require standing, walking, or sitting; using hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; talking or hearing; tasting or smelling. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Travel Requirements:
Approximately 10% of the time (3 days per month).
