Job Summary

The Business Development Manager for Thermal Services will lead the direct and indirect sales efforts supporting the Thermal Services business segment. This includes thermal contracts, installed solutions, extended warranties, thermal parts, and engineering services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement overall area strategy to meet or exceed established orders targets for all Thermal Service contract and installed solutions within the Area.
  • Perform regular sales calls on existing Strategic, Named, and Key Accounts to establish new and expand existing thermal services and parts opportunities.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of partnering strategies with Local Vertiv Offices (LVO's), support and training of LVO's sales teams, annual business planning and coordination of local marketing efforts.
  • Attain sales quotas and planning goals in all assigned product and program areas.
  • Perform site walks, customer presentations, and technical reviews as needed to identify, pursue, and close thermal service and parts opportunities.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years' service sales experience.
  • Ability to negotiate in tough situations with both internal and external groups; can settle differences with minimum noise; can win concessions without damaging relationships; gains trust quickly.
  • Working knowledge of Data Center & Communication Industries preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Vertiv thermal products and services a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented, and able to manage and prioritize leads through multiple channels.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capable of resolving contract and product issues.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education

BS/BA degree in Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration or equivalent. HVAC, Mechanical contractor and/or mechanical application engineering experience a plus.

The role is eligible for a 30% Sales Incentive which pays monthly. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also can earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
