Job Summary

In this role, you will oversee and manage the safe and efficient operations of a designated work unit under general supervision.

  • Direct, supervise, and evaluate the performance of team members within the assigned unit.
  • Execute production strategies in alignment with established schedules.
  • Engage in daily operational tasks, addressing complex challenges as needed.
  • Monitor ongoing work, identifying issues and implementing corrective measures.
  • Conduct performance assessments for team members.
  • Estimate staffing, materials, and equipment needs for upcoming projects.
  • Maintain inventory levels and approve material purchases; oversee usage reports.
  • Educate team members on safety protocols and maintain safety documentation.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED with five years of relevant operational experience, including supervisory roles, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field related to mining, with at least one internship in a mining or industrial setting, including supervisory experience.

  • Ability to comprehend and apply verbal and written instructions related to work and safety in English.
  • Effective communication skills in English regarding job responsibilities and safety standards.
  • Capability to perform in a potentially high-pressure environment.
  • Work is conducted in a mining or manufacturing setting, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and potential hazards.
  • Regular physical activity, including standing, climbing, and manual dexterity, is required.
  • Occasional lifting of moderately heavy items (up to 30 pounds) may be necessary.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts in a continuous operation.
  • Compliance with personal protective equipment requirements is mandatory.
  • Adherence to a drug/alcohol-free workplace policy is enforced through pre-employment and random testing.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $87,000-$121,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not encompass bonuses, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual compensation is determined by experience and qualifications.
