Position Summary

In this role, you will oversee, coordinate, and ensure the safe and effective functioning of a designated work unit.

  • Delegate, supervise, and assess the work of team members within the assigned unit.
  • Execute production strategies in alignment with the approved timeline.
  • Engage in daily operational tasks, tackling the most complex challenges.
  • Monitor and evaluate ongoing work, identifying issues and directing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Conduct performance assessments for team members.
  • Estimate staffing, materials, and equipment needs for upcoming projects.
  • Manage inventory of parts and materials, authorize purchases, and maintain usage reports.
  • Educate team members on safety protocols and maintain safety documentation.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED with five years of relevant operational experience, including supervisory or leadership roles, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical mining-related field with at least one summer internship in a mining or industrial setting, including supervisory or leadership experience.

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Ability to comprehend and apply verbal and written instructions related to work and safety in English.
  • Effective communication skills in English regarding job responsibilities and safety standards.
  • Capacity to operate in a potentially high-pressure environment.
  • Work may occur in a mining or manufacturing setting, involving exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, electrical hazards, toxic substances, and airborne particles.
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb, and work at heights.
  • Occasional lifting of moderately heavy items (up to 30 pounds) may be necessary.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts in a continuous operation.
  • Personal protective equipment is mandatory in the mining, outdoor, manufacturing, or plant environments.
  • Freeport-McMoRan maintains a drug/alcohol-free workplace through mandatory pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random testing as permitted by state laws.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $87,000-$121,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not encompass bonuses, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual salary is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This position is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
