Transportation Supervisor

Job Overview

The Transportation Supervisor is a key member of our logistics team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation department. This role requires a strong focus on safety, customer satisfaction, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all drivers meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) requirements.
  • Oversee the delivery of products to customers, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Train and develop new drivers, ensuring they understand company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the Road Net software, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Ensure the fleet is properly maintained, addressing maintenance and safety-related issues.
  • Coach and direct drivers on performance, using driver surveys and customer feedback.
  • Monitor productivity and progress, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring of drivers.
  • Field driver calls and facilitate actions as necessary.
  • Train transportation employees on company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct monthly safety training and meetings, ensuring compliance with company safety policies.
  • Ensure all drivers have required DOT/CMV certifications.
  • Handle and report accidents according to company policy.
  • Communicate route changes daily.
  • Monitor driver schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels.
