**Job Title: Housing Specialist**

Salary: $53,250 - $54,000 per annum

Located in Bronx, NY, Tempositions, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Housing Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the Housing Services Department, this role will focus on providing housing intervention and assistance services to clients.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Collaborate with program participants to develop service plans that address presenting problems and obstacles to maintaining housing stability
  • Assist in client intake, service planning, advocacy, and referral services in the absence of a case manager
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to follow up on service plans and track progress
  • Enter case-related information into the organization's database and maintain accurate records
  • Conduct and participate in housing-related activities and workshops to educate clients and promote stable housing
  • Advocate for clients to secure rental assistance grants through charitable organizations
  • Compile and submit packages to HRA for Rental Assistance Grants (Exceptions to Policy) and One Shot Deals
  • Work collaboratively with legal services staff to identify client readiness for legal proceedings
  • Treat all clients, visitors, and employees with kindness, respect, and dignity
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations to ensure compliance

**Requirements:**

  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking highly desired
  • Baccalaureate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field with 0 years of direct social service experience
  • Associate degree in Human Service or related field with 1 year of direct social service experience
  • High School Diploma/General Equivalent Diploma with 2 or more years of direct social service experience
  • Knowledgeable of case work/case management methodologies
  • Commitment to the mission
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively well with diverse groups
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and efficient
