Marine Deckhand

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Deckhand to join our team at Ingram Marine Group. As a Deckhand, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the deck crew in tow building, including laying wires, tightening ratchets, sweeping, and shoveling barges.
- Perform daily vessel housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning crew living quarters.
- Assist with locking and carrying rigging, pumps, hoses, and lines.
- Work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Check barges for water and leaks, which may require climbing into confined spaces.
- Participate in safety drills and audits.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Ingram's safety standards and protocols.
- Ability to work away from home for extended periods (14, 21, or 28 day hitches).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly in unexpected circumstances.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork and acceptance of diversity.
