Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wireless Firmware Test Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our Wireless Connectivity Silicon team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our innovative wireless silicon for use in Apple's products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Firmware, Radio, MAC, and Systems engineering teams to develop a comprehensive test plan to ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of Apple's wireless silicon firmware and products.
  • Design and develop test infrastructure, continuous integration flows, and automated test scripts to support presilicon development and postsilicon validation, system integration, and debugging.
  • Develop and execute test cases, publish test reports, collect test logs, and identify and debug test failures.
  • Build and maintain presilicon and postsilicon reference board test setups, as well as production-specific test setups.
  • Develop and implement innovative test methodologies and automation solutions to improve test efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the development and debugging of firmware, working closely with system QA to reproduce and resolve issues.
  • Build and maintain test result dashboards and support bug triage meetings.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Silicon firmware test engineer.
  • Experience with automated test and continuous integration frameworks.
  • Proficient in scripting and debugging in languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, C++, or equivalent.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to analyze and investigate test failures and errors.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of embedded software fundamentals and low-level hardware interfaces.
  • Understanding of wireless protocols, systems, MAC, PHY, and WiFi/BT functional or performance or stability testing.
What We Offer

At Apple, we offer a comprehensive compensation package, including a base salary range of $175,800 to $312,200, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We also offer a range of benefits, including comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and a range of discounted products and services. Additionally, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments, as well as relocation assistance.
