Position Overview
The Wireless Connectivity Silicon team at Apple Inc. is in search of experienced Wireless Firmware Test Engineers dedicated to maintaining the excellence of our cutting-edge wireless silicon utilized in a variety of Apple products.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Firmware, Radio, MAC, and Systems engineering teams to create comprehensive firmware testing strategies aimed at ensuring the stability, reliability, functionality, and performance of Apple's wireless silicon and associated products.
- Design and implement testing infrastructure and continuous integration processes for both pre-silicon development and post-silicon validation, including regression testing cycles.
- Develop detailed test plans, set up manual and automated testing environments, generate test reports, and analyze test logs to identify and troubleshoot failures.
- Construct pre-silicon and post-silicon reference board testing setups, as well as specialized production testing configurations.
- Create and refine firmware test cases and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency.
- Innovate solutions to address automation challenges and improve execution processes.
- Assist in debugging and reproducing issues, collaborating with system QA teams on bug reproduction and data collection, and executing debug tests with specialized firmware builds.
- Develop dashboards for test results and actively participate in bug triage discussions.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5 years of proven experience as a Silicon Firmware Test Engineer.
- Expertise in developing and executing automated testing frameworks and continuous integration systems.
- Experience in firmware and software white box testing, including test plan creation, implementation, documentation, and maintenance.
- Proficient in scripting and debugging using languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, C++, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve test failures and build issues effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Solid understanding of embedded software fundamentals and low-level hardware interfaces.
- Familiarity with wireless protocols, systems/MAC/PHY, and functional, performance, or stability testing for WiFi and Bluetooth.
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree combined with 10 years of relevant experience.

- Compensation is a key component of our total rewards package, with a base pay range for this role between $175,800 and $312,200, dependent on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
