Safety Compliance Officer

Position Overview
The Safety Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that all operations adhere to established health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) policies and regulations. This role involves conducting thorough assessments and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe operations and compliance with HSSE standards.
- Conduct facility evaluations to identify scoring and gaps.
- Perform quarterly safety inspections across various operational areas.
- Compile and present quarterly and annual safety reports.
- Engage with local agencies regarding safety and security matters.
- Assist with OSHA inspections and implement necessary corrections.
- Generate safety alerts, document lessons learned, and propose corrective measures.
- Facilitate safety toolbox discussions.
- Conduct Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) observations and encourage reporting.
- Support special safety initiatives and projects.
- Contribute to the development of new safety procedures and emergency response drills.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, and near misses.
- Assist with audits and ensure regulatory compliance as required.
- Promote safety culture and leadership development within the team.
- Monitor safety protocols and manage emergency responses.
- Collaborate on safety statistics and program improvements.
- Oversee personal protective equipment (PPE) management for the terminal.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license is mandatory.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required.
- An Associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety is preferred.
- Experience in the transportation or trucking sector is advantageous.
- Familiarity with operational equipment is beneficial.
