Position Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is inviting applications for an Open Rank, Open Track faculty role within the Department of Medicine, specifically in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. This position is tailored for individuals with a keen interest in classical or non-malignant hematology.

About the Program:
The Classical Hematology Program comprises a dedicated group of healthcare professionals skilled in managing a wide range of hematologic disorders. These include conditions related to hemostasis and thrombosis, various types of anemia, platelet disorders, bone marrow failure syndromes, myeloproliferative disorders, and other rare hematologic diseases.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide clinical care to adult patients across multiple outpatient settings.
  • Participate in the inpatient hematology consult service on an as-needed basis.
  • Engage in the education and assessment of medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare learners.

Research and Scholarly Activities:
Opportunities for clinical and translational research are available, and candidates are encouraged to contribute to ongoing scholarly activities.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess an MD or equivalent degree and be board certified or eligible in Hematology. Board certification in Internal Medicine is also recommended. The rank and compensation will be determined based on qualifications and expertise.
