Position Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is inviting applications for an esteemed faculty role within the Department of Medicine, focusing on Benign Hematology. This position is designed for individuals with a keen interest in classical hematology and non-malignant blood disorders.

Program Details:
The Benign Hematology Program comprises a dedicated team of specialists proficient in managing a diverse range of hematologic conditions. These include, but are not limited to, disorders related to hemostasis and thrombosis, various types of anemia, platelet disorders, bone marrow failure syndromes, myeloproliferative disorders, and other rare hematologic diseases.

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be expected to:
1. Provide comprehensive outpatient care for patients with non-malignant hematologic disorders.
2. Participate in the inpatient hematology consult service on an as-needed basis.
3. Engage in the education and assessment of medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare learners.

Research and Scholarly Activities:
We encourage the successful candidate to enhance their academic contributions through clinical and translational research opportunities. Participation in teaching activities for students, residents, and fellows is a vital component of this role.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess an MD or equivalent degree and be board certified or eligible in Hematology. Board certification in Internal Medicine is highly recommended. The rank and compensation will be determined based on qualifications and expertise.
