Position: Senior Maintenance Technician

Overview:

The Senior Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our facilities. This position involves performing advanced maintenance tasks and providing guidance to the Maintenance Manager on preventative and corrective maintenance strategies for commercial and industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including OSHA regulations and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of systems and equipment to identify and document performance issues.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various equipment, including:
    • Electrical systems and controls.
    • Plumbing and associated components.
    • Mechanical and electrical machinery.
    • Building system operations and assessments.
    • Data analysis to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as parts ordering, vendor coordination, and participation in project meetings.
  • Document maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and recommend updates to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure clarity on work requests and project timelines.
  • Oversee maintenance projects, providing direction to subcontractors as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Site Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited trade program is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry fields.
  • Possession of valid state driver’s license and any required operational certifications.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and safety guidelines effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Core Competencies:

  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to disassemble and reassemble mechanical systems.
  • General knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in specific trades such as electrical work, plumbing, or HVAC.
  • Capability to operate forklifts and aerial lifts safely.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage unexpected challenges effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to mechanical parts and potential hazards associated with maintenance work.
  • Required safety equipment may include steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection.
