Position: Senior Maintenance Technician

Overview:

The Senior Maintenance Technician plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the functionality of commercial and industrial facility systems. This position demands a high level of expertise and experience, as the technician will be responsible for advanced maintenance tasks while also advising management on preventive and corrective measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including OSHA standards and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of systems and equipment to identify and document performance issues.
  • Expertly maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, including:
    • Electrical systems and controls throughout the facility.
    • Plumbing and piping systems, ensuring optimal functionality.
    • Mechanical and electrical machinery, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
    • Perform ongoing assessments of building system operations.
    • Execute tests and analyze data to ensure equipment operates effectively.
    • Monitor the performance of mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Follow established manufacturing standards and change processes for core equipment.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as parts ordering, vendor coordination, and participation in project meetings.
  • Document maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and recommend updates to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and client representatives to ensure clarity on work requests and project timelines.
  • Oversee maintenance projects, providing guidance to subcontractors and ensuring quality service delivery.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry maintenance.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and relevant operational certifications.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and safety guidelines.
  • Proficient in writing reports and using MS Office applications.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with diverse groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Core Competencies:

  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Skilled in disassembling and reassembling various building systems.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building safety protocols.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and aerial lifts safely.
  • Capable of adapting to changing priorities and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
  • Strong mathematical skills for practical problem-solving.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and move items up to 70 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to mechanical parts, outdoor conditions, and potential hazards.
  • Safety equipment may be required, including protective footwear and hearing protection.
