The organization curates a diverse range of exhibitions and public programs, emphasizing contemporary art while maintaining a rich collection of over 5,000 objects.

Role Overview: The Public Programs & Outreach Manager is responsible for the development and execution of educational initiatives and outreach activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Public Programs: Collaborate with the Director to design public programs that complement exhibitions through educational outreach and community engagement.
  • Organize artist talks, scholarly lectures, workshops, and community events.
  • Engage with faculty and educators to facilitate academic outreach and coordinate guided tours.
  • Foster relationships with community organizations to enhance public participation.
  • Manage logistics for visiting artists and speakers, including travel and accommodations.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through attendance and engagement metrics.

Outreach and Marketing:

  • Work with the Director to create a strategic outreach and marketing plan targeting key audiences.
  • Develop and distribute marketing materials, ensuring clarity and engagement.
  • Maintain up-to-date public information resources, including the organization’s website and social media platforms.
  • Serve as the media relations contact, collaborating with communication teams to generate press coverage.

Event Management:

  • Maintain a comprehensive calendar of public programs and events.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including space reservations and equipment needs.
  • Oversee setup and breakdown of events, ensuring a smooth experience for attendees.

Visitor Services:

  • Ensure clear signage and information regarding hours, policies, and programs.
  • Manage visitor inquiries and feedback, providing assistance as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a museum or gallery setting.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and audiences.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and online platforms.
