Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in forensic analysis to fill this key role.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating and analyzing geotechnical failures, providing expert insights, and developing solutions to prevent future issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-depth geotechnical forensic investigations to determine the causes of failures and soil-related issues.
  • Perform detailed site assessments and soil sampling to collect relevant data.
  • Analyze soil, rock, and underground conditions to assess stability and potential risks.
  • Develop and validate models to predict soil behavior under various conditions.
  • Provide recommendations for remediation and prevention of geotechnical failures.
  • Organize and coordinate with field and laboratory staff to complete explorations and lab testing.
  • Provide recommendations for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other service divisions to develop innovative engineering solutions.
  • Assist in the resolution of technical claims/disputes.
  • Write/Prepare technical reports and documentation for project findings and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory codes – buildings, structures, site work, and safety.
Qualifications:
  • 10-20 years with geotechnical forensics project experience.
  • Bachelors in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master of Science degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge and experience using software and tools (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, gINT, etc.).
  • Experience with field/testing devices and site inspection investigative reporting.
  • Knowledge of industry codes, standard, and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and investigation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel to client meetings and project site visits.
