The Geotechnics division plays a crucial role in site characterization, foundation design, and the installation of offshore structures, as well as pipelines and cables in nearshore and landfall regions.

Your Responsibilities
By joining our Projects, Drilling & Procurement team, you will:

  • Act as the geotechnical lead, overseeing and delivering geotechnical services throughout the entire project lifecycle across the oil & gas, low carbon solutions, and renewable energy sectors.
  • Manage the planning and execution of soil investigations to gather essential in-situ and laboratory data for engineering tasks, from initial phases to data validation and processing.
  • Develop comprehensive site characterization strategies in collaboration with specialists from various units, including survey, geophysics, and metocean.
  • Provide geotechnical insights for feasibility studies and foundation concept selection, addressing risks and opportunities related to geotechnical aspects.
  • Identify and spearhead improvement initiatives, implementing new methods and best practices in technical safety in close collaboration with management.
  • Engage in technology, digitalization, and innovation projects.
  • Represent Equinor in working groups and international forums.

Essential Qualifications:
- A Master's or PhD in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering with at least 7 years of relevant experience in offshore/nearshore geotechnics or soil mechanics, including fieldwork and geotechnical engineering design.

- Proficiency in relevant geotechnical software such as Opile, PLAXIS, and GRLWEAP is advantageous.

- A structured, systematic, and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to lead and drive team performance.

- A business-oriented approach, focusing on quality, HSE, security, timely deliveries, and stakeholder management.

- Strong collaborative skills, capable of working with diverse stakeholders across various business areas.

- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
