Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist up to four Relationship Managers (RMs) in managing client relationships within the portfolio, ensuring RMs remain the primary contact for key clients.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients regarding a segment of the portfolio.
  • Engage in client-facing activities, including conducting annual review meetings, providing customer service, and overseeing the closing process.
  • Collect and assess annual financial reporting requirements for assigned client relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Department to perform annual reviews and process new money requests within the designated portfolio, making informed recommendations for risk ratings based on financial data analysis.
  • Manage portfolio reports, addressing documentation exceptions, maturities, and monitored lines to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Coordinate with banking partners to identify and support cross-selling opportunities based on client interactions.
  • Assist Relationship Managers with deal screenings and preliminary evaluations of large existing and prospective clients, working closely with Senior Credit Underwriters to facilitate complex credit analysis and underwriting.
  • Oversee the review of loan documentation and the closing process for assigned client relationships.
  • Collaborate directly with the lead Relationship Manager when specialized expertise is needed to support client needs.
  • Support Relationship Managers in presenting credit proposals to Regional Credit Officers and Loan Committees.
  • Occasionally accompany Relationship Managers on visits to top clients to foster ongoing training and development of the Portfolio Manager role.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, adhering to internal policies and controls, and completing training requirements promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 4-6+ years of experience in credit analysis, commercial banking, and business banking, with a minimum of 2 years in portfolio management or underwriting.
  • Proficient understanding of loan structuring and documentation is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and lending principles, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Client-facing aptitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.

Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with potential for annual merit increases.
